1 Year Anniversary & The Winds of Change
February 2nd marked our 1 year Anniversary but things have been so hectic lately we didn't have time to celebrate.
In our first year we had planned to have a beer on tap in 1-2 restaurants but by years end we've had beer on tap in 10 restaurants and as many as 4 taps flowing at once in The Vintage Cocktail Lounge. We figured we'd be brewing 1 day a week every other week and to keep up with demand we ended up brewing 1-3 nights a week at times.
Recently, due to an upswing in his own business our landlord asked us if we would be willing to move out because he needed the space back we've been occupying. UH OH, while we were happy for them this wasn't what we wanted to hear so soon in the game. Time to hit the reset button so we stopped brewing just after the first of the year and have been slowly delivering the last of our beer stockpile to our regulars while we came up with a new plan.
So what's a little 1 bbl brewery with no place to call home to do in times like these?
Time to find ourselves a new home and expand our brewing capacity in hopes of working smarter and not harder in 2011.
Space is tight in Montaville these days and after several months of searching, the possibility of finding something that suited the needs of our expanding brewery was impossible. Once we expanded our search we found a great location just across the I-5 bridge in downtown Vancouver. We are pleased to be a part of the revitalization process going on in Vancouver and look forward to serving their community as well as stay involved with the Montavilla neighborhood where we got our start.
The new location will house the expanded 5 barrel brewery as well as have a tasting room which will run on limited hours at first. True to the Nano Brewery concept, I'll be keeping a day job as well as make sure beer keeps flowing from the taps. During this time of growth we will be taking the next few months off from brewing to finish building the new brew house and get the tasting room ready. Check back often as I'll be posting pics from the brewery build out as well as the new brewing equipment as we get it finished up.
Cheers

You have a ready and willing fan base already. We love your model, we want your beer, and we are glad you are taking that space! thanks!
Welcome to Vancouver (also known as Vantucky to its friends).
Hoping you will be open to provide beer to the mostly lawyer crowd in your new neighborhood on Friday afternoons and evenings.
Cheers!
